Doomsday Afternoon Post is a solo act making music which references post apocalyptic fiction and comic art.
There is a storyline throughout the lyrics of the songs which pictures the struggling of the main character searching for happiness and freedom in a futuristic but declined society.
The music has strong roots in early New Wave, Funk and Electronic music. Synthesizer and bass guitar are heavily used. Ferdinand Rudolf, the person behind Doomsday Afternoon Post, played for some years bass guitar in a few local New Wave bands from Rotterdam The Netherlands and used the name of the act before those periods as an umbrella for songwriter activities. In 2017 Doomsday Afternoon Post was resurrected as an independent solo act.
